A Three Legged Friend
You have three legs and you are black. You would disappear for ages but I would always know
you would come back.
You played in the water, fields, woods and even my back garden.
I do not know how long for but it seems like it is forever.
I do know that you loved it.
I went on holidays for four days and came back to find you were gone.
I called and called your name but you would not answer. I looked everywhere
even behind the big rock.
I had to stop when the time was late on my clock.
I searched for five days after I came back but I did not see you come back. The fifth day you were
found by my dad.
I thought you would come back by me praying even do i knew what my dad was saying.
I knew from that day on that you were gone.
The one thing that I will always remember is no matter where I am day or night you will there.
You are the one dog that will never be forgotten

My Life will last 10-15 yrs; any separation for you will be pain.
Give me time to understand what you want of me.
Place your trust in me; it’s crucial for my well being.
Don’t be angry with me for long, you have friends,
Work and entertainment. I only have you.
Talk to me, if I don’t understand your words, i`ll still
know your voice.
Be aware that however you treat me ill never forget it.
Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth but I
choose not to bite you.
Before you scold me for being lazy ask yourself if
there’s not something wrong if I’m sick or getting old
and weak.
Take care of me when I get old, it will happen to you
tooCome with me on my last journey; never say I can’t bear
to watch it. Everything is easier for me if you are there
